Eldorado Canyon

Eldorado Canyon!

I created this video in the late-2000s. I was climbing with my friend and mentor Ryan, who I still consider a good friend to this day. Eldorado Canyon is a magic place if you have any interest or experience in rock climbing, it's probably the second most important single place in North America behind Yosemite and thus, Mecca. Check it out when you can, and bring a helmet.

The Whirlwind

It's been a crazy summer. We've gone on hikes, to national parks, movies, parties, BBQs, road trips, back road trips, side road trips, and all sorts of crazy things. It's been a Duesey, for sure.

The Homestead

It's been a journey lately. My parents have been out of town since the end of last month. We've been watching their house, which has allowed the kids to camp in an actual yard. It's also given us fresh eggs, and privacy. It's been lovely.

Accomplishment

I love you when you can invest time into something and see a reward. I spent the last week in Phoenix training to be a UPS driver. I passed everything today, and it's go time. Can't wait to see what's in store for me in the future.

Working For It

Today, I started training for driving for UPS. It was incredibly difficult, but I feel like we are gonna be okay. I'll memorize stuff, for sure.

The New Car Vibe

We got ourselves a new scout shuttle: a Nissan Rogue. We are stoked for the addition to our family, a Battle Scout, ready for action.

Decisions and Derision

Lately, I've been struggling to find purpose in life. I've spent most of my time trying to find an answer, a meaning. It's been rough, and I've spent a lot of time in states of frustration and depression. It's been difficult.

I stick to my lists, my rules, my own personal code, and try hard not to push my values on others. My celebration has been tempered with wisdom that includes others more than offends them.

But it's hard, and it seems like, looking for faith, those with the most of it are also the most unkind. So, with Star Trek my moral compass stays, believing in that brand of hope over the things on this Earth I can't control.
